HOW TO USE

  1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

    GUARDI concrete effect compound should be applied on strong, durable and level substrates. The substrate must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other substances that reduce adhesion. Before applying the product on a well dried and seasoned substrate, prime the surface with a Francesco GUARDI primer.Prime the fresh cement and cement-lime plasters after approx. 4 weeks and gypsum plasters after approx. 2 weeks after plastering.The finish coat and surfaces made of drywall must be dedusted and then primed, e.g. using Akryl G. The surface should not leave any white dust when rubbed by hand. If necessary, use the Akryl G primer twice and then Francesco GUARDI primer after an appropriate period.Walls with wallpaper: thoroughly remove the wallpaper and wash away glue with soap and water, and allow to dry completely. Remove mechanically spots of mould or fungi and then disinfect using Biotox Total algae and fungicide.Irrespective of the substrate type, apply Francesco GUARDI primer before using concrete effect plaster. The plaster may be applied after the priming agent has dried, i.e. after at least 24 hours from the end of priming provided that optimum drying conditions were provided (temperature +20°C, humidity 60%).

  2. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    Mix the paint before use. Use a steel trowel or Venetian trowel to apply approx. 1-2 mm thick plaster coat on a previously primed surface. After application of a uniform layer, start forming the structure.Depending on the effect that you want to obtain, use one of the methods listed below:
    - use a clean trowel applied perpendicular to different spots on the wall;
    - place a film on the plastered area and press it using a paint roller, take the film off, and then smooth out with a metal trowel by moving in different directions;
    - form using a dry roller by moving in different directions and places on the wall.
    In any case, approximately 30-40 minutes after making the structure (as soon as the trowel stops adhering to the wall), smooth out the entire surface using the trowel so as not to create thickening whilst leaving local pits in the plaster’s structure. To make a coat with higher wear resistance, it is recommended to paint the plaster coating with Francesco Guardi lazure paint.

  3. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Apply the concrete effect plaster at substrate and ambient temperatures from +10°C to +25°C, avoiding direct sunlight on painted surfaces both during application and drying.
