Quartz render Francesco Guardi is an exclusive line of decorative compounds for making durable, thin-coat render coatings on façades of single and multi-family houses. Thanks to the use of the highest quality acrylic resin and strictly selected quartz aggregates, this quartz render has a high aesthetic value in all three colour lines — Natural, Extreme. High endurance and resistance to weather makes this product particularly suitable for use as a final decorative and protective layer in ETICS heat insulation systems.

The quartz render may also be used for decorating elements of façades, balcony walls or concrete fences. And thanks to its unique decoration values, it is great for interiors and for areas subject to particularly heavy use such as plinths, corridors or stairways, as well as for public buildings such as schools, government offices or outpatient centres.

HOW TO USE

  1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Apply the quartz plaster on durable, robust and perfectly level substrates. The substrate must be clean, dry, free from oily smudges, dust, mechanical impurities, unbound aggregate as well as free from biological and chemical attack. New cement plasters may be covered after 3 - 4 weeks’ seasoning. Fill any missing material or unevenness. Before applying the plaster, prime the well dried substrate with a GUARDI primer coloured similar to the colour of the plaster.

Highly absorbent and dusty substrates should be primed with Fixgrunt or Akryl G before applying the GUARDI primer. Any signs of biological attack on substrates should be removed using Biotox Total. In case of a substrate made from an adhesive mortar; Syntekol PSW / Syntekol Q4 should be used as a reinforced layer, prime it after binding, i.e. after at least 3 days from the end of priming provided that optimum seasoning conditions were provided (temperature +20°C, humidity 60%).

Plaster may be applied after the GUARDI priming agent has dried, i.e. after min. 24 hours from the end of priming, provided that drying took place in optimum conditions. The plaster may be applied only on vertical surfaces free from capillary action. In case of application on space dividing elements with heat insulation made using EPS or XPS polystyrene panels, the minimum thickness of the reinforcement coat should be 4 – 5 mm

  2. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Apply the plastering compound after preparation using a plastering tools set recommended by LAKMA. Spray the compound perpendicular to the wall's surface from a distance of 40-50 cm. Move the gun in a uniform way along the surface forming a separate area. Proceed in a circular, vertical or horizontal direction. Recommended nozzle gun sizes 2 and 3, compressor pressure up to 4.0-5.0 atmospheres.

Note: To obtain a uniform structure, apply the compound on the whole surface being plastered using the “wet on wet” method. Exterior surfaces should be protected from rain for 24 hours. The more level the surface, the easier the application and the greater the aesthetic effect.

  3. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This product includes natural raw materials, so it is recommended to plaster a single area, treated as a functional unit in one work cycle and using the material from one batch. Apply the Francesco GUARDI quartz plaster paint at substrate and ambient temperatures from +5°C to 25°C, avoiding direct sunlight on painted surfaces both during application and drying. Do not apply when air humidity exceeds 80%. Mixing the plaster using fast stirrers may result in discolouration of aggregate and foaming of resin.
